9.) "Planning for the Future"

Equipment:

  • One decoy with hidden sleeve and hand protection.
  • A mother with baby stroller.
  • Large doll representing an infant child.
  • A vehicle with open driver's window.

"Planning for the Future" Scenario:

  • You witness a pervert knock a mother down and steal her baby out of a stroller.
  • You are about 40 yards away with your K-9 as the pervert gets into a vehicle and drives off.
  • You call out for the pervert to stop.
  • He ignores you and keeps going with the baby laying on the passenger seat.
  • You send your K-9.
  • The K-9 must not bite the mother now screaming for her baby's return.
  • Your K-9 must attempt to jump into the drivers window to apprehend the pervert as he drives away.
  • When the K-9 has apprehended the pervert and the vehicle comes to a stop, the struggle between the pervert and the K-9 continues.
  • You arrive on the scene, you must command the pervert to stop struggling.
  • When the pervert finally complies, the K-9 must release on your command and guard him while you search the pervert for weapons and continuing guarding while you help the mother locate her, now safe, infant.
  • The exercice ends when you return to your K-9.
